And for kids, it's Game On, as libraries have launched the Summer Reading Club.
People can use the The Who Else Writes Like? database on the library websites to search by author to get suggestions of similar authors or choose by theme, genre, or country.
The database is especially designed to help parents, teachers and librarians in encouraging children and young people explore the world of reading.
Find the database at http://library.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/All-about-books-reading
The free Summer Reading Club is for all ages from preschool to high school. Register online at www.summerreadingclub.org.au and visit your local MidCoast Council library to pick up a Summer Reading Club pack.
Children are encouraged to visit their library to borrow and get their Game On! card stamped at least five times so they can be entered into a special prize draw. Every 10 books earns you an entry to the main prize draw.
At the conclusion of the SRC, there will be a celebration at Manning Entertainment Centre on January 24 for young readers who have read at least 10 books.
