Manning Great Lakes LAC have shared a Facebook warning posted by NSW Police about a circulating email scam. The email to watch out for is a fake bill with Telstra branding.

A warning from MailGuard stated that this email arrives looking like a Telstra bill notification. The messages have been sent out en-masse from a compromised account.
MailGuard lists some tell-tale details to look out for if this email lands in your inbox:
- The sender display name is shown as: ‘online service team’
- The sender address is: ‘info[at]lesphotography[dot]com[dot]au
- The ‘view bill’ link in the scam message is meant to take the recipient to a downloadable archive file.
MailGuard stated “the objective of scammers who send out this kind of emails is to get their victims to open the linked files, which usually contain malware designed to infect their computers.
