
A 19-year-old Old Bar woman has died following a fatal accident on Old Bar Road on Tuesday, January 30.
About 7.20pm, the woman was traveling east on the road in a vehicle in a Mazda 2 at the same time a 40-year-old woman was travelling west in a Ford Falcon.
The 40-year-old woman’s vehicle then collided with the 19-year-old’s vehicle.
As a result of the crash, the 40-year-old woman was ejected from the vehicle.
The 19-year-old was trapped inside the vehicle until rescue officers arrived.
She was transported to John Hunter Hospital by helicopter in a critical condition and later died.
The 40-year-old woman was also transported to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but not life threatening condition, suffering injuries to her hip, ankle and rib.
She has undergone mandatory blood and alcohol tests.
Crash investigators attended to the scene and are currently investigating.
Manning Great Lakes police are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
That includes anyone who saw or spoke to the driver of a blue Ford Falcon which hit a pole in a supermarket car park on Old Bar Road, Old Bar, earlier in the day.
