A committee was formed and the first official game kicked off on Thursday, October 26 with 57 children registered to play, ages ranging from seven to 16.
The competition ran over six weeks, was very successful and the end of the competition was celebrated with a free sausage sizzle.
Touch football is a great sport to encourage kids to be active, learn ball skills and promote team spirit. Anyone and everyone can play, no matter age, gender, experience or ability.
Gloucester Juniors Touch Football Association has thanked the Gloucester Seniors Touch Football for its kind donation helping the group start out.
They covered the cost of registration with Touch Football Australia which allowed the junior association to have reduced fees of $20 per player, making it more affordable for everyone. Thank you to Hebby’s Bakery, Avon Valley Meats and Gloucester senior league for their donation for the juniors’ end of year barbecue. We’re very lucky to live in a wonderful supportive community.
The next six week season will start Thursday afternoon, February 15.
Primary school aged children play at 4.30 and high school aged children play at 5pm. New players welcome. Registration is $10 for returning players and $20 for new players. Information is on our Facebook page ‘Gloucester Juniors Touch Football Association’ or contact Jodie on 0400262819.
We are looking forward to another great season!
