It’s a similar concept to the tractor pull, but invites people to test out their utility (ute) vehicles instead.

Entrants will have their utes hooked to a weighted sleigh and will have free range to see how far they can pull it.

Last year’s tractor pull was so popular that this year‘s the event will take place in the main arena.

The Gloucester AH&P Association is taking entries for anyone interested in taking part but want people to know that this event is not a competition, it’s just a bit of fun testing the pull capacity of your ute.

There is a wide range of categories to choose from.

There is the Light category for vehicles like SVUs or small four wheel drives, the Medium category is the typical work ute, the Heavy section is for larger tonnage vehicles like a Landcruiser and the Miscellaneous category is of anything outside of that like a six wheel drive or something homemade.

If you’re feeling a bit creative you could enter the Best Presented category, or if you think yours is a step away from the tip there’s always the Worst Presented section. But don’t worry if your enter your vehicle under the wrong category, they will sort you out on the day. All vehicles must be road worthy and registered.

The big event will take place from 4pm on Saturday, March 17 in the main arena. The exact time the pull begins will depend on what time other events finish up.

The ute pull isn’t the only event to take place during the show which runs Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17.

Organisers have decided to run a Kids Farmer Challenge instead of the adult competition. Other events for children include a whip cracking competition, an animal nursery and lots of games and rides.

Pavilion competitions and animals events will be running again this year with the show schedules containing all the information available from various locations around town.
