That’s how Gloucester’s Claire Reynolds views bush poetry and she is looking forward to another opportunity to entertainment at Gloucester Rotary Club’s annual Bush Poetry at the Saleyards.
This unique location offers a ringside of view of the performers as they recite some of Australia’s classic poems.
Claire has been involved with the event since its inception and this year is no exception.
She will be one of several performs taking to the stage for an evening of pure Aussie entertainment. Same as least year, she will be joined by Gabby Colquhoun and Bill Kearns.
Returning again this year will be the music stylings of The Bowden Brothers, who will provided music on arrival and in between performances.
Claire said she will be performing a mix of original poems as well as a few written by others.
“I’m working on a few options but I can’t do them all,” she said.
“Some old favourites and a little surprize,” she smiled.
Everyone is welcome to come along for Bush Poetry at the Saleyards on Saturday, March 10 at the Gloucester saleyards on the corner of Church Street and Cemetery Road. Pre-show entertainment starts 6pm with the poets taking to the stage at 7pm. Tickets are $25 and are available from Gloucester Health Foods, Bowe and Lidbury or Gloucester Visitor Information Centre.
