The Young Women’s Group of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) Gloucester Evening Branch met for the first time last month.
It was a successful turnout of 16 women and their children, with another dozen woman expressing their interest.
The group will meet every second Friday of the month and to make the group accessible to all women with different timetables, meeting times will alternate between 11.30am for odd months (March, May, July, September, November, January) and 7pm for even months (April, June, August, October, December, February).
Each month members will pick a skill they wish to learn, whether it be crochet, cooking, gardening or baking and CWA Gloucester Evening Branch members will show them how it’s done.
This new group for young Gloucester women hopes to bring together the community over shared interests and a good cup of tea or coffee.
An invitation is extended to the CWA Gloucester Evening Branch Young Women’s Group’s first official meeting on Friday, March 9 at 11.30am at the CWA Rooms on Church Street.
At this meeting, the women will be learning about or brushing up on their knitting and crochet skills so remember to bring along some wool and knitting needles or crochet hooks and some lunch.
Tea and coffee will be provided. All working women, mums, teens, kids and babies are welcome.
