At a recent Gloucester Men's Shed meeting a motion was passed to refurbish a dilapidated picnic table and seats at the Kia Ora lookout as a service to the community.
Midcoast Council was contacted with plans and approval was gained.
A council officer attended the Shed to provide safety induction to the participating tradesmen and assistants. Shed members are extremely safety conscious!
The Shed purchased materials and fabrication was started at the Fairbairns Road workshops. Installation took place on Wednesday, February 28.
The operation was carried out professionally and the crew was back at the Shed by lunch time.
