Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has flown to the Williams River area near Barrington Tops on Monday, March 5 where the two men, who were thought to be missing in the Barrington National Park after activating a personal locator beacon (EPIRB) on Sunday afternoon (March 4), have been located.

It’s reported the men had gone to the park for a planned a bushwalk.
At around 8.30pm that evening the emergency location beacon was activated.
It’s reported the two were hit by torrential rain and storms.
Around 9.50am Monday morning (March 5) an ambulance paramedic was winched into the location where both men are found uninjured.
A 48 year old man was the first to be winched out and after a refuel of the helicopter, the second man aged 46 year old, also uninjured and the paramedic will be winched out.

A search is underway for two men believed to be missing in the Barrington Tops National Park.
About 6.40pm Sunday (March 4), a personal locator beacon (EPIRB) was activated in the Barrington Tops National Park northwest of Dungog.
Due to adverse conditions, a search of bushland was not able to be conducted yesterday afternoon, however a vehicle belonging to the men was located on Williams Top Road near Lagoon Pinch Road.
On Monday, March 5 a command post was established at the Williams Top Picnic Area on Williams Top Road, at Upper Allyn.
Police from Port Stephens/Hunter Police District, as well as personnel from AUSSAR and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service have started a search this morning.
The missing men are aged 48 and 46.
It is believed the men had been canyoning and abseiling in the park.
