With community service at the heart of the Rotary movement, the Unsung Hero Community Service Award is designed to pay homage to those who volunteer to help others.
As Gloucester is a well known community for its many volunteer hours, finding people to nominee for this award should be a breeze.
A successful nominee is someone who had been volunteering for several years and is a resident of or provides a service within the Gloucester region.
Gloucester Rotary believes it is important to acknowledge the contribution volunteers make to the community and as a way of supporting the awardee, a $500 donation will be made to a community service charity organisation of their choice.
All nominees will be invited to a recognition dinner on Tuesday, May 1 at the Gloucester Bowling Club where the winner will be announced and receive a plaque.
Nomination forms are available from Helloworld Gloucester, Imelda’s Shoes, Gloucester Pharmacy, Gloucester Health Foods and The Gloucester Bookshop. Applications close on Friday, April 20 can be submitted either by post as per the nomination form or email to valdab@live.com.
