In the past week police has detected 10 people drink driving with eight of those offences occurring since Friday night.
During the same week 12 drivers have tested positive to illegal drugs after being stopped for Roadside Drug Testing.
Police in the Manning Great Lakes Police District will continue to target traffic offences and conduct random alcohol and drug testing to modify driver behaviour.
The choice to drink or use drugs and drive; the choice to use a mobile phone, the choice to speed, the choice not to use a seat belt; these are all decisions that can ultimately result in a senseless loss of life.
Police reminded drivers that responsibility and accountability go hand-in-hand in ensuring a reduction in loss of life and serious injury on the road.
