The junior cake section, which is open to both boys and girls from 4 yrs to 16 years of age, is always a popular event.
Sandy Tebbet, the show steward for junior cakes, advised that there were 136 entries exhibited at the show.
The quality of the entries was of a very high standard.
Gloucester High School students entered some high quality, creative cakes.
A number of the students attended the judging of the cakes and were very attentive, picking up hints from the judge on what makes a ‘champion’ cake.
“Our show is as good as the support it receives, and the support and interest extended to the junior cooking was exceptional with barely enough room to fit all the cakes in the display cabinets,” Sandy said.
A very special thanks to all the young people and their parents and teachers who took the time and effort to enter the competition.
Also special thanks to the teachers at Gloucester High School, who encouraged and assisted the students to enter in the competition.
