Stroud won the toss, electing to bat first, but didn’t get off to the ideal start losing two key wickets early; including the vital one of Dal Schultz for just 5 runs. Some superb bowling from Cavaliers openers Ben Reynolds and Johny Cornelius saw them restrict Stroud to just 21 runs in the first 19 overs. As another wicket fell, Stroud were 3/21 and the umpires called for a much needed drinks break. After drinks, the momentum seemed to being going Stroud's way with Ian Sansom striking the ball nicely including two sixes, but a great out field catch from veteran skipper Matthew Higgins, dismissed Sansom for a much needed 32 runs. It was all Cavaliers after that with James 'Boona' Yates tearing apart the Stroud batting order taking a hat-trick. Stroud all out for 109.
Stroud Innings batting I Sansom 32, M Edwards 14, T Threadgate 28, R Ince 12; Bowling J Yates 4/19, B Reynolds 1/16, J Cornelius 1/16, J Barkwill 2/34, B O'Brien 1/18, P Reynolds 1/5
Stroud got off to a confident bowling start claiming the wicket of Jye Barkwill for 2 but it was all down hill from there with Ryan Yates showing his class with a quick fire 42 including a big six into the middle of the lawn bowlers. Yates was caught and that brought Johny Cornelius to the crease and he smashed the Cavaliers to victory with five consecutive boundaries finishing with 29 runs not out along with skipper Higgins, who showed his experience with a solid 32 not out. Player of the match was James Yates.
