Circus Avalon held workshops for students in years five and six on Wednesday April 11 during their physical education (PE) lessons.
Directed by Circus Avalon members, Michael Riley and Lewis Tinley numerous stations were set up, taking the students through the different circus elements and demonstrating a range of tricks.
Students were taught balancing skills using pogo sticks, unicycles and stilts, and concentration skills by using a diablo, firesticks and plate spinning.
The students then chose a skill they had practiced and demonstrated their chosen trick to the class. All participants were rewarded with a round of applause from their peers and a free ticket to see the Circus Avalon.
The workshops were ahead of Circus Avalon’s first ever Gloucester appearance, holding a series of shows at Gloucester Showground from Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15.
