The 2018 Insurance Advisernet MidCoast Business Awards are fast approaching with nominations now extended to close of business Friday April 20.
After the success of the awards in Tuncurry last year the event returns to Taree with the gala dinner at Manning Valley Race Club on May 4 from 6.30pm.
Entries are open to all business owners in the MidCoast local government area with success locally potentially elevating them to regional and State award levels.
“It such an amazing night last year in Tuncurry and we hope to see it replicated in Taree,” said MidCoast Business Awards committee spokesperson Nikki Thornton.
“The Great Lakes based businesses really showed support and interest with many of the winners coming from the area. It would be great to see Manning based business step up once more and take on the challenge of this broader area.”
The MidCoast Business Awards are a coming together of the Manning, Great Lakes and Gloucester areas under the new name.
The mirroring with council is a deliberate attempt to bring all business in MidCoast together and work on enhancing the local economy.
“We’ve got so much to be proud of in our area and the awards give business a chance to benchmark themselves against others they previously haven’t been up against,” said Nikki.
“It’s a new challenge and one we believe is beneficial.
“For business to succeed you need to look within. Completing an award nomination forces you to take a look at how your business is travelling and plan for the future. There are many different categories to enter so we’re sure one will fit any local business.”
Information on the awards can be found at the web page www.midcoastbusinessawards.com with application forms, tips and guidance.
Nikki said external assistance is also available with your nomination.
“We certainly acknowledge that business owners are time poor, so on the web page there are some people with expertise in writing submissions that you can talk to.
“It could also be you can’t put into words what you do as eloquently as a creative writer. Go to the web page and seek direction, but, best do it now as time is running out.”
The community can also vote for their favourite local business in the Peoples Choice award.
