75 year and over nominees are:
Mae Bobsien – Mae has been playing tennis for many years, the last fifteen of them here in Gloucester. She began playing socially but quickly moved on to play in the Gloucester ladies’ mid-week competition.
Mae also played in the mixed competition for a number of years; however, her body has not been able to cope with playing two days per week, so Mae now plays only in the women’s competition each Thursday.
Kevin Burley – Kevin has been a great asset since joining the Gloucester Bowling Club in 1998. He helps in lots of ways, whether it be with maintenance around the club, preparation of the greens or helping with carnivals.
Kevin is a keen bowler, playing at club and district level.
Joan Ridgeway – Joan has won numerous championships at the club level over many years at the Gloucester Bowling Club; these include the major singles, championship triples and the consistency singles.
Kevin Everett – Kevin joined the Gloucester Bowling Club in 1992 and is always willing to help around the club, whether it be maintenance or helping with carnival preparation.
Kevin has also been a board member and president of the club.
Peter Green – Peter has done so much for the Gloucester Bowling Club since joining in January 1992. He is always busy making sure everything is clean and tidy outside the clubhouse for its patrons. He is always helping maintain the grass greens, using his tractor when needed.
He makes sure the flags are flying and helps the bar staff by collecting glasses. Peter is a great asset to the club.
The ceremony is on Saturday, May 12 at Gloucester Soldiers Club auditorium from 6pm. Anthony Zanos from 2RE radio will again keep the crowd entertained, with former NRL referee Mick Stone as the guest speaker. Tickets are on sale Furniture One on Church Street.
