Regardless of the weather conditions most of the planned events will proceed as normal.

The dawn service is “press on”, whether it be rain or shine. The march planned for 10:30am will only be altered in the event of heavy rain. If so, it will be diverted to the Gloucester Recreation Centre where the service will follow.

Otherwise, the Anzac Day program will proceed as set out below.

5:30am - Dawn service at Gloucester Memorial Park Cenotaph Clock Tower, 7 Memorial Park Lane. The public are invited to attend the dawn service.

6:30am - Wreath laying at the Memorial Gates, Saint Paul's Anglican Church, 61 Ravenshaw Street.

7am - Wreath laying at Gloucester Cemetery, Cemetery Road.

7:15am - Wreath laying at the Gloucester District Historical Society Museum, 12 Church Street.

7:45am - Breakfast at the Gloucester Soldiers Club, 32 Denison Street.

10:15am - Participants in the Anzac Day march assemble outside Gloucester Soldiers Club.

10:25am - Wreath laying at Gloucester Soldiers Club.

10:30am - Commencement of march. Guard supplied by CPL and four soldiers from Singleton leading the march. Music supplied by pipers. Flag bearing party, followed by members of the RSL and guests, women auxiliary, community organisations and schools.

March to proceed down Denison Street to Church Street across to Hume Street, up Memorial Park Lane to the clock tower. 

A bus and nurse will be available courtesy of the Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital for the ex-service men and women who find it difficult to march.

The public are invited to witness the march and attend the 11am service at the Gloucester Memorial Park Cenotaph Clock Tower.

This day is all the more special because in 1918, 100 years ago, Australian troops continued to fight on the western front and in the desert, but on November 11, 1918 peace was declared.
