We held over 30 events, including seniors rights information sessions, golden screenings, morning meditation, a golden oldies bash, card games, painting workshops, visits to nursing homes, grandparents storytimes and a mind games and mindfulness morning.

These were held across the region and had around 400 people taking part.

Events were all fully booked with demand giving us plenty of good feedback for the next time we participate in the seniors festival.

Seniors festival was also a great example of how we form partnerships with other community organisations like Mid Coast Assist and seniors rights who assisted in the delivery of these events.

We also visited local nursing homes, in partnership with the Manning Wallamba Historical Society, taking along historical photographs of the local area for residents to see and reminisce.

As soon as this program was finished we went straight into school holiday mode.

Once again we ran a wide variety of events, including making beeswax wraps, boot-camps for kids, virtual reality, kite-making, puppet-making, Bunnings workshops, ANZAC Day craft, science on the move, bingo, film screenings, holiday bag making, scratch art, and painting workshops, with great participation across all branches.

During this time we even managed to fit in a library friends ANZAC Day event.

In May we will be holding our great books festival.

This runs over a four-day period and involves the library taking nationally recognised authors and illustrators to local schools in the region.

This year’s program is fully booked with over 1000 local children expected to participate.

This is a rare opportunity for children to meet their literary idols, all made possible thanks to the library.

As you know we’ve got a strong community focus with our service.

There are a few other regular community group activities we support that you might not be aware of.
