Stephen Bromhead, Member for Myall Lakes, opened the event and spoke warmly of the major contribution to our community that is made by our volunteers. Thanks to a grant from the NSW Seniors Festivals Committee, Quota was able to offer free entry.
More than 30 organisations were represented, and judging by the noise level in the hall, there was something for everyone.
Visitors were able to meet volunteers from a wide variety of organisations, and learn more about their aims, time and place of meetings etc.
Taking that first step is not easy, and it is hoped that by meeting in this informal way Forster/Tuncurry residents will find it easier to join an organisation.
The theme Enjoy Life was chosen because it best describes the pleasure and friendships that are to be found by working together with a common aim.
