The event will be hosted by the Taree and District branch of RSPCA, with registrations to start at 9am at a cost of $5 per animal.
The walk will then begin at 10am.
Prizes will be up for grabs for the winners of the following categories: smallest pet, biggest pet, oldest pet, pet and owner look-a-like, ‘waggliest’ tail, best dressed pet and best trick.
Several stalls will be held on the day, such as RSPCA merchandise, show bags, lucky dips, Taree Vet Hospital, Reptile Dysfunction, Guardian Soaps, Wingham Pet Motel and On the Ball Dog Training.
A ‘hook the duck’ competition will be held with prizes given out to all children.
Food and drink facilities will be available.
All funds raised at the event will be used locally to assist in protecting animals.
These include subsidised desexing programs for low income families, microchipping days, education days at local schools and to provide support for the NSW Inspectorate (law enforcement officers).
The Taree and District branch has a small band of volunteers that continue to work, raise funds and promote awareness for the prevention of animal cruelty.
