The biennial Manning Winter Festival will be officially opened by well-known performer and former manager of the Manning Entertainment Centre, Jeremy Miller, at a special event to be held at the Manning Regional Art Gallery on Friday, June 1.
On the same night, Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council Inc (GACCI) are hosting the Upper Lansdowne players for dinner theatre at the Gloucester Citizens Centre.
Programs for the 2018 Manning Winter Festival are now available and tickets for the Gloucester event are on sale at Gloucester Health Foods.
Packed with a variety of activities and events, the festival has something for everyone.
Programs can be obtained from the Manning Entertainment Centre, Manning Regional Art Gallery, Gloucester Art Gallery, MidCoast Council libraries and other Manning Valley outlets, or visit the website: www.manningwinterfestival.weebly.com
The June 1 opening event includes presentations of the 2018 Visual and Performing Arts Awards, farewelling outgoing festival ambassador musician and composer, Jonathan Billingham, and welcoming incoming festival ambassador comedian and performer, Andy Saunders.
Several GACCI volunteers have been nominated for awards at this year’s event.
Tickets are on sale at the Manning Regional Art Gallery and Bass “N” Blues Taree, and Ashlea Road Boutique, Wingham.
Held every two years, the Manning Winter Festivals aim to highlight, promote and celebrate artistic talent, cultural development, and creative industry in the Manning Valley.
“This year’s program is no exception. It includes drama, music and song, fairs, workshops, exhibitions and much more,” festival president Mave Richardson said.
“We have a wonderful diversity of talent in our region. We encourage everyone to check out the program and enjoy the special events and activities on show.”
