The Wingham Wanderers were off to a flying start in the windy weather Saturday May 12, scoring two quick goals early in the first half against home town Gloucester Scorpions Soldiers Club. Andrew H and Tyler D assisted Geoff H and Corbin P with some solid passes but unfortunately unable to find the net.
Seizing an opportunity from a rebound ball from the keeper, Tyler D placed us on the scoreboard. Some stellar saves from Beau B. and top notch defending from Darren H and Sam M kept the Wanderers out of the net for remainder of the game.
Final score 2-1 to the Wanderers. A hard fought game and great result against the Wanderers who are currently placed third on the ladder.
Next Saturday May 19 Gloucester Scorpions men's team travel to Wingham to play Winghams other team, the Wingham Warriors, kicking off at 3:30pm.

Samira Soupidis won the ironwoman award for a ball in the face but soldiered on. All the team had great fun and played with fantastic spirit. Well done gold. Bucketts Building Supplies, thank you to Xavier Soupidis for reffing the game. William Coombe got the opening goal followed by another shortly after. Even with tough pressure from the opposition there were some great kicks up the field from Kane Germon sending the ball back up the field. The blue team worked together amazingly well for Miller Ribbons to convert the next goal. Riley Edwards kept up the great defence throughout the whole game with Hunter McKinley doing the same for his team. A great game to watch with both teams putting in a super effort.

Accommodation Gloucester 13’s
Round 4, Played in Gloucester and what a day, Scorpions down 3 players this week, Wind blowing from the south made it easy when playing with it, but horrible playing into it.
Scorpions won the toss and went with the wind, hoping to pick up early goals, Our forwards worked well and had several attempts , but unfortunately just couldn’t finish them off, at half time Forster/Tuncurry was up 2/0
We knew in the 2nd half Forster/Tuncurry was with the wind and our defence line will be put under lots of pressure. Scorpions put there game face on and with great determination the defence line cleared chance after chance, before 1 little slip up allowed Forster/Tuncurry in with their 3rd goal. Our forwards also had several attempts at goals, but nothing would go in. Final score Forster/ Tuncurry 3/0
As a coach, Words can’t say enough, how proud I am of the team. The whole 13 players put in 110 per cent and we were so unlucky not to come away with a draw, this has been our best performance yet, keep up the good work.
Drifta 16's - A Breezy Battle
Windy weather hampered the weekends match against Gloucester Scorpions Drifta 16's and Buladelah Bullets on Saturday May 12. The Bullets opened the match with an early goal in the 4th minute, though Drifta were soon to attack with Aiden H. assisting Kayden S. to level the score for the remainder of the half. Hayden R. hit hard with some sneaky slide tackles, while Isaac E.B. made some stellar saves. Josh, Kelly and Harrison worked well together up front, unlucky not to gain a goal with the wind hindering the balls direction. Scores remained locked 1-1 until the final minutes where Bulahdelah drilled a diagonal ball into the net.
Next Saturday May 19 sees Drifta 16's battle it out against top of the table Great Lakes Vikings at Boronia Park (Forster) at 11:30am.
