If you need accurate information about the MidCoast population or your local market, workshops being held in Taree, Forster and Gloucester on Wednesday June 13 and Thursday June 14 can help.
MidCoast Council will host .id analyst Ryan James at a series of free workshops for everyone who needs to understand our local population and key demographic information. The company .id brings together teams of demographic and spatial analysts, urban economists, industry sector experts, IT and data management specialists, and is the largest population forecasting team in the country.
"MidCoast Council provides demographic information, expertly presented by .id, free on our website for everyone to access, but it's not often we're able to host an expert, free of charge, to help us understand the information that is available" council's co-ordinator community strengthening, Lyndie Hepple said.
Now that the 2016 census information has been analysed and pulled together, we’re able to get an updated overall picture of our community, and Ryan will be able to talk us through that."
The information that is freely available includes population statistics, such as community and area profiles, age break downs, socio-economic status, home ownership and much more. Population growth forecasts and economic profiles of the area are included, providing valuable information for strategic and future planning.
If you're part of a community group, the statistics can help you demonstrate need for your funding applications - vital to helping you secure grants.
The workshops will also benefit businesses, students, educational institutions and government agencies, allowing for better marketing, strategic planning and improving community outcomes across a range of social activities.
Two workshops will be held in Taree at MidCoast Council Chambers on Wednesday June 13 at either 12pm or 2pm.
A Gloucester workshop will take place from 9am on Thursday June 14, followed by two sessions in Forster starting at 12.30 and 2.30pm.
The workshops run for one and a half hours; the first hour will paint a picture of the area's population, and in the final 30 minutes Ryan James will provide a quick demonstration to help you navigate the profile.id website to access the regional statistical information you need.
Community statistics are always available at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/communitystatistics.
