Performances ranged from piano solos and vocal duets to three piece rock and roll bands, setting to work on the stage at the Gloucester Seniors Centre on Saturday (May 19) evening.

Some of the artists had been on stage many times before, while others braved the space for the first time. Whether playing a classical piece on the violin or bashing out a rocking solo on the drums, it was clear the musical talent in this town is incredible.

Gloucester musicians volunteered their time to help run the event with Ty Soupidis performing the master of ceremonies duties and leading a Bob Marley jam at the end of the show. Mike De Angelis, known as a drummer in several local bands, organised the performers backstage, as well as filling in on drums when needed. Former professional songstress, Maureen Hjorth and long-time musician Ed Ross oversaw the business end of the event, scoring each performance and awarding the top three spots in the junior and senior category.

Although the evening was about encouraging young performers to get up and give it a go, the awards were as follows: Junior – 1^st Zeke Llewellyn, 2^nd Kyden De Angelis and 3^rd Anna-Rose Seale; Senior – 1^st Cameron Redman, 2^nd Ethan Bird and 3^rd Nina Samson; Encouragement – Bridghid Parker.
