The duo from Hunter Special Vehicles (Gloucester) and Hunter East Coast 4X4 (Tuncurry) have spent months preparing their EH 1964 at the Tuncurry business.
“It’s virtually standard inside,” Justin said of the car.
“My cousin took part in the event last year, so this year my son, Billy and I combined with him to get involved.
“We have raised just over $70,000 for the cause so far, and are pretty excited about the event.”

This is the 29th anniversary of the event, which has raised in excess of $26 million to date.
This year, the Outback Car Trek will travel approximately 3,500 kilometres from Tamworth to Airlie Beach on the tropical far north coast of Queensland from June 3-9.
“The Royal Flying Doctors is an organisation that I have had personal experience with, my goddaughter used them when she had heart problems when she was born, so it’s really good to have a chance to support them and raise some awareness,” Justin added.
The father and son team aren’t the only ones from Gloucester heading out on the trek; Brian Holstein is driving in Car 7476.
