Gloucester's forwards found it frustrating with their attempts either hitting the cross bar or skimming past the post as the wind changed the direction of the ball.
Aiden Hawkins and Hayden Reid stepped up, both having a great game in the midfield, while Beau Boyd and Sam Mundey were kept busy in the defensive line.
Final score: Taree Wildcats 2, Gloucester Scorpions 0.
Slippery conditions made for a difficult game on Sunday, June 3 for the Gloucester Soldiers Club men's team who fought hard against the Great Lakes Vikings in their catch-up game.
Andrew Hughes found himself in a tough battle with the Great Lakes wingers, carrying out numerous goal saving tackles.
Mathew Trudgeon worked the ball nicely down the edge of the midfield while the Soldiers club found themselves just behind on the scoreboard at the half time break.
Great Lakes returned strong, and so did the rain, after the break, with the Vikings slotting some nice balls to the back of the net, which encouraged our strong centre backs to start pressing forward, chasing the goal which eventually came from Tyler Davies putting us on the score sheet.
Final score: Great Lakes 4, Gloucester Scorpions 1.
Next week there are no representative games due to the long weekend.
Gloucester Scorpions Men's team next game is at Tinonee against Pacific Palms on Saturday, June 16, kicking off at 1.30pm.
