Finishing second outright with a score of 1 hr, 12 mins, 47 seconds was David Opie and Nathan Johnson in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4.
David and Nathan were the first competitors from the Kempsey Sporting Car Club to finish and a huge congratulations goes to them.
While a very creditable 3 rd overall went to Steve Arthur and Blair Hallberg in their former Nathan Quinn Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 scoring 1 hr, 13 mins and 6 seconds.
fourth overall and first 2WD Development Series driver, was Jamie Lulham with David Darby as Co-Driver in their “giant killing” twin cam Toyota Corolla who scored a total time of 1:15:48 while rounding out the top 5 was Bruce Durham and Stephen Bramble who scored 1:16:03 in their Toyota Celica.
Eighteen of the 29 starters finished the challenging event which consisted of rough weathered bush tracks through to cresty undulating ridge runs.
Several crews failed to finish the event due to mechanical failure, including our current National Rally Champion Nathan Quinn and Bruce Tyler who suffered rear suspension failure in their classic Mazda RX2 early in the event.
The Kempsey Sporting Car Club sends their gratitude to everyone who helped with the event and to all of the competitors.
