Accommodation Gloucester v Gloucester BlueLight:  A close game with both teams putting on what was a very exciting game, both teams were neck and neck until the end. Harry Clarke, Dylan Green & Baily Ballantyne  had a great game in attack, Dylan scored four goals. Bailey Roberts, Simon Collins and Olivia Marsh played well defending the whole game. Paula Edwards had a good game in and out of goals. Gloucester BlueLight game out with the win 7 – 6.

Gloucester Soldier’s Club (Red) v Gloucester Farmer’s Markets (Yellow): The first game of the day was a tight tussle between two very committed teams who were determined to keep the ball out of their goals. Tyler showed some fancy footwork for Yellow supported by a determined Tom. Felicity was a rock in defence for Red alongside Aliya and Hamish. Both teams took several shots at goals only to be thwarted by some great effort in goals. A great game with excellent sportsmanship shown by all on the field. Final score 2-1 to Gloucester Farmer’s Markets.

Hunter Special Vehicles (White) v  Autolec Gloucester (Dark Blue): The second game of the day saw another group of determined young players take the field. Travis and Thomas excelled in goals for White, keeping the score low. Some excellent passing skills were on show with Lucas and Oliver teaming up well for White and Ruben and Jake for Blue. A really tough game, final score 5-2 to HSV.

GB Pest Control (Maroon) v Gloucester Bluelight (Green): The final game of the day was another solid game with everyone pulling out their best passes and working well as a team. The girls formed a formidable, dancing defence line for Maroon, kicking out almost everything and getting it to their midfielders, Blake and Joe. Xave continued to commentate throughout the game, pausing every now and then for a header while Bree and Seth worked wonders in goals. Shannon was in outstanding form for Green, working solidly with Brennan and Joseph. Final score did not reflect the game, Maroon’s best yet. 6-2 to Bluelight.

Darrel’s Butchery v Gloucester Dental: Taj Smith played a great attacking game. Bodhi Harrison showed great defence and good goal keeping to stop several goals. Aidan Blows had a wonderful game also with support from Oliver Collins. Jessica Marchant had great ball handling skills. Jack Marks showed good defence and Jarred Plater had his second great game in Division 3. Jessica, Jack and Jarred all scored a goal each for the team. Final Score 0-3 to Gloucester Dental

Autolec Gloucester v Gloss-Ter CarWash: Alicia Edwards scored two goals and one goal was scored by Toby Warwick. Nicholas Maslen, Lucas Reyes, Toby Kellehear, Alexander Terras and Brodie Baker all played a fair and hard game that made for an exciting game to watch. Thomas and Charlie Coombe both had a terrific game scoring two goals each. Archie Ribbons also had a great game scoring a goal. Gloss-Ter Carwash is performing well as a team now with all players competing at a high level and as a united team. Final Score 3-5 to Gloss-Ter CarWash. 

Gloucester BlueLight v Gloucester Medico: This was a top game to watch with Christopher Bolton and Charlie Bignell showing strong defence. Mia Blamires played a hard game. Jali Wilson and Mason Daniel both scored a goal each. Jesse Ashby and Matthew Woods had a strong game. The whole team pulled together for the win. Final Score 0-2 to Gloucester Medico. 

Avon Valley Concreting v Ollies Service Centre: Great goals from Avon Valley’s Ewan Sheely and Jarrah Baker. Awesome ball control and dribbling down the field . Thank to Cooper Allan for playing for us today. Ollies all played well as a team today. Great defence from everyone.

CalCo Surveyors v Darrels Gourmet Butchery: CalCo put in a solid all round effort in defence and attack. A great goal to Beau Laurie. Awesome job by Xavier as referee. Darrel’s Eli Soupidis  was fantastic in attack and defence. Some great  “almost” goals, everyone is playng really well. Hunter McKinley  was solid at the back with some big kicks and long throw ins. Zoe Kilby and Sami Soupidis did some great things in the middle. Zoe is growing in confidence every week. The team played well, it is great to see they are all having fun.

Bucketts Building Supplies v Gloucester Dental: The first goal of the game was to Miller Ribbons after some strong defence from Cruiz Genoli and Cooper Moore. William Coombe then followed up with a fabulous goal from a tackle at half way. Kane Germon landed  the third goal, great kicking from Thomas Richardson and solid defence from Henry Maggs. William landed the next goal followed moments later by two goals by Kane.

The under 13’s hadn’t played soccer for 3 weeks, due to a bye, public holidays and last week being called off due to wet grounds at Old bar.

Saturday’s game in Gloucester, we played Tuncurry Forster Gold, 4th on the ladder, This was the team we played at the beginning of the season and were beaten 13 - 0, so we knew we would be in for a tough game, We were a bit flat footed to start with, and Tuncurry got away with some quick goals, to lead by 5- 0 at half time. We picked up our game and only let 2 more goals in finishing at 7 - 0.

On Sunday we played our make up game against Old Bar. Old Bar currently 3rd on the ladder, The team came with their game face on. Sam Collie scored our first goal 15 minutes into the game with Old Bar scoring with 5 minutes to go in the first half.  In the second half we missed several attempts at goal, our defence line dug deep and didn’t let Old Bar through, At full time we were 1 goal a piece, Yippee a draw.

This was our best performance so far, All 13 players put in their best performance. This game has shown how far our new team has come from the first game of the season. Being a coach and parent it was so great to see a massive smile on all the players faces.

Next week we play Taree.

An early goal to Tinonee Eagles in the opening minutes of the game on Saturday 30th June kept Drifta on their toes for the duration of the first half. Kayden Schumann was unlucky not to score after going one on one with their keeper, putting him on his knees to save his attempt, while Aiden Hawkins’s attempt narrowly missed the post. After a great cross from Hayden Reid, Zeke Llewellyn created a wonderful volley only narrowly missing the crossbar.

Drifta regrouped and returned back to the pitch after a half time tactics talk with Beau Blanch levelling the score shortly after kick off. Isaac Earle Broadley saved some good shots, while Isaac Mclure and Tristyn Beard blocked the Eagles’ runaways. A solid pass from Cody Howard across to Kayden Schumann aided Aiden Hawkins to sneak the ball past the Eagles goalie, while Beau Blanch claimed his second goal just minutes after. The Eagles retaliated, sending the ball into the back of the net directly from a long range free kick out of Isaac Earle Broadleys reach. Kelly Groves, Lane Edwards and Harrison Edwards combined well in the midfield. A beautiful curl ball directly from a corner kick by Hayden Reid found the back of the net untouched by any other players, claiming his first goal for the team. Final score Gloucester Drifta 16’s 4 - Tinonee Eagles 2.

Drifta’s next game is at Bulahdelah against Bulahdelah Bullets on Saturday 7th July kicking off at 10:30am.

With quite a few players down due to illness or injuries, Gloucester Soldiers Club Men’s team knew that they were in for a tough battle against the leaders of the competition, the Old Bar Barbarians on Saturday 30th June. Gloucester soldiered on and fought hard throughout the game and kept the Barbarians at bay as best as they could. Aiden Hawkins and Hayden Reid stepped up to the men’s team again this week, providing the team with some fresh legs on the bench. Despite Old Bar scoring within the first minute of play, Gloucester only conceded four other goals for the game, a great effort against the top of the table team. Final score Old Bar 5, Gloucester 0.

The men’s team have a bye this round, and their next game is Saturday 14th July at Halliday’s Point against Wallamba at 2:45pm.
