On arrival on Saturday the outlying areas were still water logged, but the field was good.
Jacob Edwards was the team captain this week.
The toss went against us and we were running into the sun,
The team was very confident this week, as it was the first time in 11 matches that we had all team players.
Scorpions started well with Harvey Willis shooting just outside the box and stretching the goal keeper who just got the ball with his finger tips and diverting it over the top.
Shortly after, Sam Leimgruber broke through the line and the opposition just got a little touch on the ball ballooning it up to touch Sam’s hand for a hand ball.
At half time Taree was up 3 - 0
The second half started and Beau Blanch put the ball through to Sam Leimgruber who took a shot.
The ball bounced of the goal post and Beau and Sam Collie pounced with Sam connecting and putting it into the goal.
Scorpions were on the board 1 - 3.
Shortly after, Sam Leimgruber had another attempt that got through the goal keeper and Scorpions were down 2 - 3 with five minutes to play.
For the next five minutes, Scorpions persisted with their attack but just couldn’t break through.
Just minutes from full time, a throw in from the side line by Taree saw the ball not land in the field of play.
Beau picked the ball up to take our throw in when the referee called it hand ball.
The side line referee was looking elsewhere and did not see.
We were in disbelief and Taree took a quick throw in, caught us unaware and they scored with 15 seconds to go.
Final score Taree 4 - 2
Next week we are back in Gloucester.
