Manning Hockey Association will consult with members before determining the name of the third synthetic surface hockey field to be officially opened tomorrow.

Work started on the field last year and it came into play earlier this season. The field, along with the extensions to the association’s clubhouse, will opened at a function starting at 9.30.
Manning Hockey president Debbie Monck said the association is in no hurry to name the field.
“We’ll be canvassing our members to get their thoughts during the off-season,’’ she said.
“We could name it after an individual or something else.’’
The association’s first field, opened in 1988, is named in memory of one of the game’s founding fathers in the Manning, Allan Taylor. The second carries the name of long serving association treasurer, Terry Launders. It came into play in 2000.
Debbie said selling the naming rights to the field is also a consideration, if that’s what members want.
The field was used for the recent NSW under 13 girl’s championships and Debbie said the association received much favourable comment from visitors along with Hockey NSW officials. She said the clubhouse extensions also proved invaluable.
The project was funded by council, the State and federal governments and Manning Hockey.
