Runners up were Terry Davies and Denise Jutt winning over Mr and Mrs president George Wisemantel and Jean Holstein. Thursday and Saturday bowls will commence at the new time of 1.30pm from now on but have your names in by 12.30 for the draw to be completed in time . The ladies are into their consistency singles with Jan Jones defeating Cheryl West, Judy Sheely won over Jean Holstein and Jill Everett defeated Di Pritchard.
The next round will be delayed due to the ladies gala day today with twenty teams entered consisting of local and visiting teams competing for the prize money.
The mens championship fours winners last week were the Groves family of Mark, Phillip, Stacey and Wayne defeating Kevin Everett, Neville Atkins, Mike Sheely and Peter Sansom 28 to 10.
In the other match Col and Vic Hebblewhite combined with Bruce Wilson and Dickie Baker to defeat John Andrews, Bob Charman, Tony Tersteeg and Gary Spokes by 28 to 18. Col Linton, Jack Collins, Mark Tull and the up and coming lead Peter Jones defeated the experienced team of Clive Redman, Jim Whittaker, Graham Turnbull and Harry Cox 24 to 18. In the remaining match Jason Cassidy, Steve Brown, Craig Yates and Terry Davies defeated Mick Buttler, Steven and Mat Higgins and super lead Alex Cudbertson by 26 to 18.
The Annual General Meeting of the club will be held on September 9 with all positions becoming vacant for the 2018/2019 year.
