After a cuppa and welcome by president Brenda Pennicuik, a series of games were organised by captain Bev Murray. Lunch was soup and damper, followed by the usual sweet treats.
As the day was not about winners we finished with a lucky draw of nine prizes. Our inter-club visits are always a most enjoyable day of croquet. On Monday July 9 the club held its Annual meeting with 20 members present and five apologies. President Brenda Pennicuik and treasurer Elaine Leech gave their respective reports. Brenda then declared all positions vacant and invited Elynne Graham to take the chair for the election. President Brenda Pennicuik, vice president Elaine Leech, secretary Judy Hopkins, treasurer Albert Minis, games captain for association/ricochet Paddy Stevens, golf games captain Bev Murray.
The two committee members were Ashleigh Hickman and Iris Usback. Following the election a general meeting was held and sub-committees formed. Elynne then presented medals from an earlier competition. Recipients were Al Minis, Brenda Penicuik and Bev Murray. Brenda took the opportunity to make a special welcome to Col and Leah Weismantel. Until recent illness Col had been a very active player and competitor and, on many occasions, winner in in many competitions. Col was also the recipient of a medal.
After another enjoyable lunch the day concluded with social croquet. Playing times are as follows: Association 8.30am Wednesday, Ricochet 8.30am Thursday.
Golf: 9am Monday and Friday and Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 2pm.
