The event, held on Saturday August 4 in the meeting place on Dension Street, featured mascot, Andrew the Lion, who came along to help cook the sausages.
The Gloucester community is wonderful, always ready to help when needed, whether by buying a sausage, leaving a monetary donation or dropping off food and other essentials.
The event raised $4470, which included a $1000 donation from Quota International of Gloucester. Monies raised have been passed onto the Lions club’s ‘Need For Feed’ drive. Plans are currently underway to determine how to distribute all the non-perishable food and personal items which have been donated.
Saturday could not have been possible without the supportive businesses Avon Valley Meats, Darrel’s Gourmet Butchery, IGA Gloucester and Hebby’s Bakery, plus all the volunteers.
