Monthly Medal/Stroke Round
It is with tears in my eyes that I write this report this week with the loss of 2 of my friends and the club's best supporters, Lance Andrews and Warren Green.
The input these 2 blokes had to our club is unquestionable and they both will be sorely missed. RIP our friends. This week members played the monthly medal/stroke rnd for trophies kindly donated by Arkwood. The mug winner this month was B Veitch with70 nett well done Benny. The B grade winner was W Murray with 74 nett and C grade went to D Robinson with 72 nett. The gross winners on the day were J Andrews in A grade, M Howland in B grade and K Wiggins in C grade. NTPs went to J Andrews in A grade, M Howland in B grade, K Whitby in C grade and the long drive went W Murray, no one worried the 2nd shot. The ball comp went down to 74 nett.
Next weekend is the Mid Winter Open which still has plenty of spots open either in the morning hit off or afternoon off hit times, so please come along and support one of our major events of the year if you can. The following weekend is the Carson Family 2BBB T/day so please get your teams sorted for another of our premier days. The mixed foursomes will be played on Sunday the 19th of this month so all those interested get your names onto the timesheet. Whilst I'm on the foursomes our men's foursome championship has been rescheduled to the 23rd of September, which will know included a nett championship team, so get your names into support this major event of our club.
Yours in golf, The Shanker.
