Gloucester CWA Evening Branch had a very successful jam and pickle cooking day recently. Ladies travelled from Scone, Newcastle and locally, to learn the finer points from tutor Dianna Lisle from Walcha. She has won many show ribbons including at the Sydney Royal.
At our August meeting members donated $3200 to CWA of NSW for drought assistance. The CWA of NSW has so far distributed $315,000 to help those in drought with household expenses. Farmers in drought are encouraged to apply direct to cwaofnsw.org.au/droughtaid.
Donations also went to the CWA Association ($500), Westpac Helicopter ($1000), and Gloucester Scouts ($100) to assist with equipment.
For the next meeting, Thursday, September 13, at 7pm, members are asked to bake honey jumbles and petticoat shortbread. All are welcome.
