Local motoring author, Joel Wakely is just about to release his third book.
His first two, ‘Legends of the 48/215’ and ‘A Passion for Holden’ have been sell outs.
After looking at the new book, ‘A Passion for Muscle Cars’, I predict a similar outcome.
Joel's relationship with motoring goes back a lifetime.
In the 50s and 60s he ran a very successful racing team with lead driver Spencer Martin piloting the Boomerang Holden 48/215 to numerous race wins.
Joel worked for motor racing legends such as the Geoghegans and Bob Jane.
Back to the book, it's a beauty.
A high quality coffee table book with a myriad of wonderful and previously unseen photos.
The front cover probably says it all with a photograph of a Holden Monaro, Ford Falcon GT and Chrysler Charger RT the three iconic Australian muscle cars.
You'll be able to purchase the book from the Pitstop Bookshop in Sydney, from Joel direct or a number of other outlets.
The launch of the book happens at Harrington Waters Function Centre in conjunction with the Harrington Motorfest on Friday, September 7 from 12 noon.
For catering purposes please contact Harrington Library if you intend attending the book launch.
