One area of focus for Gloucester Rotary Club is developing and supporting programs which harvest the next generation of leaders.
One such program is called the Rotary Youth Exchange Program (RYEP) which provides an opportunity of a lifetime for a student to live and study abroad for up to 12 months.
During the exchange, the student will be given a first-hand experience learning about the culture and way of life in a different country.
This year, Gloucester Rotary welcomed Angelica (Angy) Marradi from Italy. Angy will spend the next 12 months with a range of host families and Rotarians, learning about the Aussie way of Life. Angy is currently staying with the Keen Family and attends year 11 at Gloucester High School.
Another youth-centred Rotary program is the Interact Club.
Interact Clubs bring together students aged 12 to 18, to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of “Service Above Self”.
This month sees the establishment of the Interact Club of Gloucester.
Proudly sponsored by Gloucester Rotary, the Rotarians will mentor and guide the Interactors with their projects and help them develop leadership skills along the way.

So far, there are eight Interactors in Gloucester Interact and they meet every second and fourth Thursday of the month to organise local and international projects and fundraising ideas.
Visit their Facebook and Instagram page to find out more.
