Monday, September 24 learn about Australia’s national digital health record system from noon until 1pm Gloucester Library, 27 Denison Street.
A My Health Record is an online summary of an individual’s health information, which can be viewed by the individual and their healthcare providers. Each record can include information such as medications, allergies, test results, hospital discharge summaries and advance care plans. The session will inform residents about how the system works, what information can go into the My Health Record, how to access My Health Record, and explain how using My Health Record can improve a person’s management of their health. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
“Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network is very pleased to be providing education opportunities to both healthcare providers and the general public about My Health Record,” HNECCPHN Chief Executive Officer, Richard Nankervis said.
“We are committed to providing accurate information about what My Health Record is capable of doing so that everyone can weigh up the benefits.”
The Australian Digital Health Agency is rolling out the system and has commissioned health networks to engage with communities. By the end of the year a My Health Record will be created for everyone who has a Medicare or Department of Veterans Affairs card unless they choose to opt out by November 15.
