Fully Rad Adventures is bringing the Wildside Adventure Race to the Great Lakes this year over the September long weekend.
Racers from across Australia will converge on the region to get a heavy dose of adventure.
Teams of four or two will have 10, 25 or 50 hours to navigate through spaces rarely visited and overcome challenges traversing demanding landscapes, moving from checkpoint to check-point by foot, mountain bike and kayak.
The race is the final of the Adventure1 Australian Adventure Racing Series with the top team in Australia being announced at the end of the race.

The series has point’s events across Australia with the best national teams vying for the converted title of 2018 champions.
The race will be a unique mix of experienced adventure racers and first timers all exploring their limits.
Race director, Richard Old said the organisers are passionate about getting people outside and exploring places and adventure racing is a great way to do that.
“For Wildside Myall Coast we have taken all that we love about the sport and created a course that offers real adventure as well as promotes the unique mix of remote long beaches, coastal forest and local history, it’s going to be special,” he said.
Starting on Saturday, September 29 teams will use map and compass with their own wits and skills to navigate their way over an unmarked route by mountain biking, paddling, trekking, orienteering, trail running, and of course a few surprises through the spectacular Myall Coast landscape.

They will have until Monday, October 1 to finish as they problem solve, route find and persevere over a wild course managing their resources.
“This race will have everything; challenging treks, demanding mountain biking and scenic paddle legs,” Mr Old added.
“The course is rich in history, has a close connection with the ocean and is stunningly beautiful.
“We are designing a race that will give teams a real adventure experience as well as get to know the area.”
