It may be hard to take them seriously with their beautifully crafted headdress, but Gloucester High School has a new Student’s Representative Council (SRC) executive.
In an assembly held in the school hall on Thursday September 13, the whole school gathered, along with family and friends, to celebrate the change of school leadership.
During her speech, GHS principal Trudi Edman told the new leaders to “be inspiring.”
“You are the role models of the student body,” Ms Edman said.
The new leadership team was invited onto the stage with their parents to have their official badges pinned on.

After the formalities were over, it was time for the outgoing SRC executive to officially welcome the new school leaders.
Mia Bowden, William Brown, Laura Dunlop, Liam Chester, Nina Samson and Andrew Hughes put on a musical performance that had the audience rolling with laughter, ending with the donning of the handmade hats and the passing on of the batons; literally.
The remainder of the assembly was scattered with a few performances from the HSC students, including music and drama, before the incoming house captains were named.

Kurricar – captains: James Connor and Tayla Hartley; vice captains: Callum Howard and Bethany Hester

Tibbuc – captains: Jacob Sopher and Ellie Schumann; vice captains: Drew Stone and Bronte Wisely
