The winner this week was Derek Bardwell with a score of 65 strokes nett. This was the best round Derek had in over two years. He was followed by Ian Maggs with 70 nett, then Tony Burnet on 71 and Roy Crichton on 72 nett. The putting comp went to Craig McLeod with 28 putts, welcome Craig to your first game with the Vets. Nearest the pins were, on the 4/13th Elaine Murray for the ladies and Tony Burnet for the men, and on the 6/15th, Ric Paff. The stayers award went to our sponsor, Chris Pritchard. The day also saw the playing of the final round in this year's Radford-Webb match play knock out trophy. The winners were Roy Crichton and Derek Bardwell who won on the 19th hole, one up over their worthy opponents Jim Dunn and Tony Burnet.
Avon Valley Concreting Trophy Day
On Saturday members played a stableford event for trophies kindly donated by Mick Kellaher from Avon Valley Concreting, your continued support of our club is greatly appreciated Mick.
The winners on the day were B Veitch in A grade with 34 pts, M Groves in B grade with 33 pts and D Robinson in C grade with the best score of the day of 38 pts. Runners-up in each grade were R Crichton in A grade, W Murray in B grade and G Marsh in C grade. NTPs went to D Stretton in A grade, W Murray in B grade P Wenham in C grade and J Herd won the long drive. On Sunday the annual Men's foursomes championship was played with trophies kindly supplied by Col Laurie and friend. The Champions for 2018 are Doug and Paul Blanch with 123 nett, well done you pair another one notched up. The winners of the nett competition was G Marsh and P Coote with 116 nett, which makes them the inaugural winners of the nett foursomes championship, well done Graeme and Paul. The gross R/ups were Matt and Phil Bowden with 134 and the nett r/ups were B Osborne and T Dare. The prestigious Bradman's bat was won by A Wall and L Ribbons, back to back so I'm reliably told!! This Saturday is a 4 man ambrose for trophies supplied by Bowe and Lidbury, this should be another popular event so get your names in. The following Saturday is the monthly/medal rnd.

Ladies Golf – Monthly Medal Stableford
Wednesday was our first taste of what summer may be like, it was very hot but later in the day it became windy and cooled everyone off.
The final round of the Monthly Medal was played on Wednesday with Margaret Dunn having a good round of 38 points, the country air must be doing you good Margaret. Ann Maggs is having a purple patch winning something each week, however she could only manage to be runner up with 35 points this week. Ball competition winners were Ann Maggs and Pam Paff. NTP 4th@13th Rhonda Nightingale 6th@15th Division 2 Pam Paff Division 3 Ann Maggs. No one from Division 1 managed to get on the green. Last week ladies attended Open competitions at Harrington and Wingham without success, however an enjoyable time was had by all. October 10th is our Annual Meeting, so please think seriously about joining the committee.
