Gloucester based junior rugby union players will feature in three sides at this weekend’s Waratahs sevens State Cup at Forster.
Pryce Crane and Lucas Pope will feature in the Lower Mid North Coast under 13s side. This will be the first time the zone has entered the side in a competition
Guided by local coaches Lee Sullivan, Jim Wilson, Daniel Sawyer and Aaron Dodds, the team is looking forward to the challenge of playing against sides from traditional rugby zones.
Courtney Whitby and Bronte Wisely will line up for under 17s MNC Tomahawks while Charlotte Maslen will be part of the Central North junior under 17s side.
This will be the first time the cup is held in the Great Lakes and attracts more than 60 teams, including boys and girls under 13s to under 17s sides.
In 2019, a junior competition will be established in the region. Games will be played at Gloucester, Nabiac and Forster on a Friday night for six to eight weeks.
Age groups will range from under 10s to under 14s and will be played with a ten-a-side format.
