Stroud Seals Swim Club perform at Port Macquarie Carnival

A small group of enthusiastic swimmers recently reactivated the club since last functioning in 2014.
In September, a dedicated group of eight swimmers travelled to Port Macquarie to compete at the Port Macquarie Carnival for the first long course carnival of the season.
All the swimmers performed well and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely weather and relaxed atmosphere.
Swimmers ranged in age from nine-year-old Angel Gray, who competed in five events, to 18-year-old Tim Tatchell.
The club bagged three medals at the carnival.
Twelve-year-old Hosanna Gray claimed a bronze medal in the 12 and under 200 metre breast stroke.
Tim Tatchell fought his way towards a much coveted gold medal in the 18 years 100 metre breast stroke.
Robert Stanley, 17, took on a very competitive field to claim a medal in the 200 metre breast stroke.
All swimmers achieved a personal best in one or more of their events.
Coach Michael Abel said the carnival was the first step to developing swimmers at the reborn club.
“We are using the carnival to benchmark times for country, State or Nationals depending on the level of the swimmers.
“The benchmarking process gives the swimmers tangible goals to achieve which keeps them focused towards the larger goals. We are looking forward to a good season,” Michael said.
