Eight-year-old Hailee was the first one to test out the new equipment, giving the whole thing her tick of approval. She was so excited to get a chance to play on it she could barely wait for the MidCoast Council staff to take down the fences on October 11.
Stage one of the face-lift began in August and was expected to be open in time for the holidays, but that didn’t matter to Hailee.
“This is amazing,” she said.
This first stage includes the replacement of shade sails, the extension of the soft-fall area and new, modern equipment including a nest swing, chimes, rotor, carousel and slide. Work will begin on stage two shortly. This stage includes the installation of a twin 30 metre flying fox.
”It’s wonderful that stage one is now complete,” deputy mayor Katheryn Smith said. “I look forward to stage two for our community and our visitors.”
