With falls of 50mm and more across a large percentage of NSW, prices have lifted quite considerably across most categories, with young cattle gaining the most, kill prices have jumped some 10-40c/kg and store cattle now being quite sought after.
Auctionsplus on Friday saw a marked improvement in clearance rates and prices received lifting $100-$200 per head.
Again young cattle saw the bulk of the improvement but Cows and Calves were hot on their heels. Feedlot prices have lifted 10-20c/kg depending on what the breed and specifications are.
The combined agents store sale in Gloucester on Thursday (October 18) saw buyers come from the New England and Tamworth areas as well as locals looking to replenish their numbers. Yearling steers topped at $900 up $100 but the biggest gains were reserved for light Angus heifers up $150.
