Gloucester President Brenda Pennicuik welcomed players from Port Macquarie, Taree, Forster and Gloucester. Play was about to begin at 8.30am when light rain commenced. Rain gear was then the order of the day.
The garden really appreciated the rain after the frosts and recent replanting. Three divisions of golf croquet were competed for during the day. Division 1 was won by Forster. Gloucester did not play in this division. Division 2 was won by Gloucester with Forster runners up.
Players for Gloucester were: singles Brenda Pennicuik with three wins 7-3, 7-5 and 7-5. Doubles players were Bev Murray and Yvonne Bagnall with two wins 6-5, 3-7 and 5-4. Division 3 was won by Forster with Gloucester runners up. Gloucester players were Lyn Stewart singles with one win 4-7, 5-4 and 5-7. Doubles players were Judy Hopkins and Ken Gosson with three wins 7-2, 7-2 and 7-3.
Gloucester now has several players about to break their handicaps.
Well done Gloucester!

Ricochet Croquet
On Thursday October 11, three of Gloucester Croquet Club members travelled to Taree for a game of Ricochet which is a new game of Croquet - it was the first get together for the game between Port Macquarie, Forster, Taree and Gloucester.
The day was very much enjoyed by Carol Dwyer, Lynette Stewart and Paddy Stevens. The rain just sprinkled throughout the day, but did not deter us at all.
We all played extremely well and each of us won 2 out of our 3 games, even though we each played out of our comfort zone because of the handicaps we were playing were above those of ours. So overall Port Macquarie and Taree were the outright winners, but we were not disgraced.
This is a new game played within Queensland and now in New South Wales and Victoria. So the three of us came back to Gloucester happy with our efforts.
