Representatives from the Gloucester Pony Club achieved some pretty impressive results at this year’s Queensland State championships.

Anthony Shultz, Amy Shultz and Emma Johnston attended 2018 State Formal Gymkhana, Sporting, Campdraft, Stockman's Challenge and Mounted Games in Marlborough from October 2 – 5.
During the four day competition, Anthony, Amy and Emma took part in all the events after having meet the qualifying times and other criteria required throughout the season.
Among their accolades, Anthony finished first in campdraft in his age group and Emma finished fourth her age group, while Amy, in gymkhana, received second place in pony club mount in her age group.
Jennie Shultz said that, overall, all three riders are happy with their results, with Anthony quite pleased he was able to hold onto his NSW campdraft title.
“It’s a really strong competition,” Jennie said. “With a good number of entrants.
“So, to get any place is a good achievement.”

Campdraft:
12-15yrs – Anthony: 1st overall
12-15yrs – Amy: 9th overall;
15-17yrs – Emma: 4th overall
Stockmans challenge:
12-15yrs – Amy: 8th in dry workout, 14th in cattle work and 14th overall
12-15yrs – Anthony: 2nd in cattle work, 7th in dry workout and 3rd overall
15-17yrs – Emma:1st in cattle work, 2nd in dry workout and 2nd overall
Gymkhana:
13yrs – Anthony – 3rd in stockhorse race and 3rd in rider class
14yrs – Amy: 2nd in pony club mount, 5th in rider class and 7th in bend bar aft
16yrs – Emma – 9th in best presented, 1st in rider class and 5th in bend bar aft
Sporting:
13-15yrs – Amy: 3rd in barrels, 4th in running T, 7th in drum and peg race, 9th in bending and 10th overall
13-15yrs – Anthony: 5th in barrels, 6th in running T, 8th in drum and peg race, 2nd in bending, 2nd in diamond flag, 8th in mug race and 5th overall
15-17yrs – 4th in mug race, 9th in barrels, 10th in scudda ho, 9th in running T, 3rd in diamond flag and 9th overall.
Gloucester Pony Club:
Meets at the Gloucester Showground the second and fourth Sunday of each month, February through to October; no pony club November, December or January.
Club activities include:
Jumping, Dressage, Sporting, Campdrafting and Zone 25 camp.
Zone 25 pony club camp held 1st week on the October school holidays. Sport/campdraft/Interclub weekend is held 3rd weekend in May each year.
