Hastings won the toss and elected to bat, Sam Whitbread opened the bowling and had instant success with the very first ball having Ambrose Humphreys caught at first slip with a sharp catch by Mitch Niven. Josh McTaggart also claimed a wicket in his first over when he bowled Jarrad Humphreys for 4, Hasting 2/9 off two overs. Things didn’t get any better for Hastings when Kade Fens was run out with a boundary throw from Gloucester’s Harry Clarke with the score now 3/15 off 4.
Charles Adnum (6) was the next batsmen out when he was caught hooking by Harry Clarke off Sam Whitbreads bowling, Zac Jones was out the next over LBW to Josh McTaggart for a duck, Hastings now 5/25 off 6 overs. Conner Cook looked to steady the innings but was out caught behind by Hudson Bird on Gloucester’s Ryan Yates 1st ball he bowled. Yates then had L.Grey run out with a great throw, Hastings now 7/36 in the 10th over.
J. Williams and Trai Blair then set about rebuilding and put on a 27 run partnership when Williams was finally out Bowled by Mitch Niven left arm spin for 8. Manning’s Captain Tom Burley his bought his opening bowlers back and in Josh McTaggart last over he bowled Z Callicetto for 3. Hasting now 9/66. Sam Whitbread then bowled Trai Blair for 18, Trai was Hastings top scorer and the only batsmen to make double figures. Hastings all out 66 in 14.4 overs.

After such a brilliant bowling and fielding effort Manning wanted an aggressive batting display and sent Big Hitting Ryan Yates and 15 year old Blake Thompson from Wingham out to open the batting and they didn’t disappoint. Manning 0/70 off 34 balls. Ryan Yates finished with 49 not out with six 4’s and three 6’s and Blake Thompson 17 not out with three 4’s

Kempsey Macleay forfeited to Manning due to lack of players which is very disappointing
The next round of Mid North Coast U21’s T20’s is at Kempsey on January 20, 2019. Hastings verse Macleay at 10am and Manning verse Macleay at 2pm
