The group, which usually meets on Tuesday for a bit of dancing, decided to celebrate the festive season with lunch on December 11. It’s a regular occurrence on the last Tuesday of the month for the group to enjoy lunch together but this month it came a little early.
The dancers, who are a group of people from around the region, have a lesson twice a month at Stroud Road Community Hall by long time instructor, Joy Tull, who has been teaching for 27 years.
Lessons run from 10am until noon the first and second Tuesday of the month, with the third Tuesday spent dancing at Stroud Lodge and the fourth Tuesday at the Gloucester nursing homes.
The group currently comprises around a dozen dancers, however new dancers are always welcome.
Gloucester’s line dancers are taking a break for the summer holidays with plans to pick up again in February 2019.
If you’re interested in getting involved, you’re welcome to drop by during the Tuesday at Stroud Road Community Hall, 8 The Bucketts Way.
A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in lines or rows, facing either each other or in the same direction, and executing the steps at the same time.
