The parents of a baby girl who drowned after being tossed into the river at Tweed Heads believed she was "evil" and an "abomination", court documents reveal.

The baby's mother, who cannot be identified, was charged with recklessly failing to provide her daughter with the necessities of life but will plead not guilty.
She faced Tweed Local Court by video link on Tuesday where she was granted bail and released to the care of a supervised mental health facility in northern NSW.
Court documents obtained by AAP reveal the 23-year-old was deeply disturbed and believed she was Mary, the mother of Jesus.
She was heavily influenced by religion and said the baby's father was "the law himself, he is the word and the son of God".
The documents refer to diary entries made by the mother where she wrote that her daughter was the "devil".
"I was not there when the babe was sleighed (sic) , it was not for me to know or my burden to bare (sic)," the woman wrote.
"Thou shalt not murder is his command but (the baby's father) is the law himself.
"He is the word and the son of God. He had the right to sleigh (sic) the wicked one for all nations sake. He did what had to be done, halleluiah to the living son."
Magistrate Jeff Linden was told the woman's parents were "very supportive" of their daughter and would travel to northern NSW to help her when she was released.
The woman sat quietly during the brief proceeding clasping her hands together in front of her face.
The court ordered she report to police daily, have no contact with witnesses and not enter the Tweed Heads area except for court appearances.
The baby's father, a homeless 47-year-old, was charged on November 22 with murdering his daughter, whose body was found on the beach by passers-by three days earlier.
The documents reveal the baby's crying caused fights between the pair and the father told the mother he was giving the infant to a tribal elder.
The woman told police she was in love with her partner and did not want to "dob him in". She also said it was not her place to question him over what happened to her daughter.
It was alleged the infant was thrown into the water at Tweed Heads in NSW, where she drowned, before her body drifted north for about 30km.
The couple's second child, a two-year-old boy, remains in foster care.
The woman will reappear in Tweed Local Court on February 25.
